What to put in a report
Tell me what you expected, what happened instead, and which app or screen it was. Then add the evidence from your phone — it is what turns a guess into a fix.
On iPhone. Settings → Send feedback sends your note straight to me when you tap Send, with your app version, iOS version and iPhone model; nothing else goes with it. If the phone is offline, Email it instead writes the email for you, with the same details plus the clean-version rule version, and you can delete any of it before sending. If the problem is a page in the clean version, use the ⋯ menu on that page → Report a problem with this page instead, so I know which site; that one is always an email. To include what the app recorded, turn on Include event log in the email sheet — it shows you the exact lines first. You can also copy the log yourself from Settings → Event log. Nothing is sent until you tap Send.
On Android. For a screen inside Instagram or YouTube: Settings → Help → Not blocking? Send layout → Start capture, open the screen that is behaving wrongly in the other app, tap the capture button, then share the report to your mail app. It holds view identifiers, sizes, and the labels Android reads out for the screen. For a block screen that came late or did not come at all, send the event log instead: Settings → Help → Export event log. It holds times and event names only — no app names, no page content, nothing you typed. Both are shown to you first, and the app sends neither by itself.
It was working, then it stopped
On Android this is almost always your phone's battery settings stopping the service overnight, not a blocking bug. Open Decafly and read the card at the top of the Today screen. If it says "Turned off by the system", tap Fix it: it lists the exact steps for your phone's make, usually turning on auto-start and taking the app out of the battery saver's sleeping list. If it says "Permission needed", the Accessibility switch was turned off, and Turn on takes you back to it. If it says "Blocking not applied", tapping Fix it there reapplies your settings. If it says "Blocking is on" and blocking still does not happen, write to me and say which app or screen.
On iPhone, check that Screen Time permission is still granted — Decafly's first screen says so plainly, and the app cannot block anything without it. Permission is revoked by iOS, not by the app, when Screen Time access is turned off in system Settings.
It does not block something
A layout change in the other app is the usual cause, and the fix is usually a new rule file rather than a new app version. Send me a layout report from the steps above and say which screen was not blocked. On Android, rules are published to this site and the app picks them up; you do not have to update the app.
It blocked something it should not have
This one gets fixed before anything that is merely not being blocked. Stop it immediately first, then report it.
- Android: if a whole app is being blocked, open
Blocked appsand remove it. If it is a screen inside Instagram or YouTube, open the Clean tab and set that row — Shorts, Reels, or Explore — toOff. Both take effect at once. - iPhone: open
Blocked appsand remove the app, or set the mode toOff. If the clean version is hiding something you need, turn that item's switch off in the site's detail sheet in the Clean tab.
Then send a layout report of the screen that was wrongly blocked, so I can repair it for everyone.
Turning it off, and getting your data back
Blocking and the clean version are free, so there is nothing to cancel for them. On Android, remove the apps from Blocked apps and set every row in the Clean tab to Off, or use Settings → Withdraw consent and then turn Decafly off in your phone's Settings → Accessibility. On iPhone, turn blocking off in Decafly, or remove Screen Time access in system Settings. Uninstalling removes your settings and your activity: they are stored only on your phone and go with it. There is no account, so there is no copy of them for me to delete.
Decafly Pro: cancelling, restoring and refunds
Decafly Pro is an optional subscription billed by Apple or Google, and it renews until you cancel it. Uninstalling Decafly does not cancel it.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Decafly. On Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Decafly. Decafly's own Settings → Decafly Pro also links there. After cancelling, Pro stays until the end of the period you paid for.
- Restore on a new phone, or after reinstalling: sign in with the same Apple Account or Google account, open Decafly → Settings → Decafly Pro and tap
Restore purchases. - Refunds are decided by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or by Google Play, not by Decafly.
- The only purchase record kept outside your phone is the one at RevenueCat, the subscription service Decafly uses. Write to feedback@decafly.com to have it deleted.
